WHAT TO EXPECT
Your Session,
Step by Step
01
Getting to Know You
We begin with an in-depth intake conversation to understand your story, your goals, and what feels most important right now.
02
The Session Work
We choose an approach together based on your goals and assessment. Sessions may involve CBT strategies, DBT skills, relationship work, or EMDR when appropriate. You can ask questions and give feedback throughout.
03
Reflection & Next Steps
Each session closes with a brief check-in. We note insights, set intentions for the week, and adjust our approach to your pace.
THERAPEUTIC APPROACHES
Focused Support for Your Needs
01
CBT for Anxiety
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) explores how thoughts, feelings, and actions influence one another. If worry, overthinking, or avoidance is narrowing your life, we can identify unhelpful patterns, practise more balanced responses, and take manageable steps toward situations that matter to you. We agree on practical exercises to try between sessions and review what you learn.
02
DBT for Emotion Regulation, Communication & Resilience
Drawing on Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), we practise skills for understanding emotions, tolerating distress, and responding with greater intention. Work may include mindfulness, communicating needs clearly, setting boundaries, and navigating conflict while maintaining self-respect. These skills can support resilience during stressful periods. DBT-informed individual sessions are tailored to your goals.
03
EMDR for PTSD
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is a structured, trauma-focused psychotherapy used to treat post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). Following assessment and preparation, we may work with distressing memories while using guided bilateral stimulation, such as side-to-side eye movements. The aim is to reduce the distress associated with those memories. We first discuss your readiness, coping resources, and whether online EMDR is appropriate for you.
